The hackathon had tracks in blockchain, data analytics, game development and social media. I went with people from my college, and we worked on SmartAssist, a model of a modern roadside assistance application that lets customers request assistance to their exact location, call rideshare, and lock/unlock their car from a distance all from their phones. Though we didn't get a prize, we had a great time attending workshops, networking, and learning about the technologies we used for this project.
It was an amazing experience meeting people working and studying in the same industry as me. It was also my first exposure to learning about and actually using blockchain technologies, and I have continued to learn more since the hackathon. I can't wait to go back again next year!
